GARN’s African Hub!

The African Hub stands as a vibrant nexus, bringing together over 90 organizations and individuals across the continent who share a deep commitment to advancing the Rights of Nature (RoN) in Africa. Your decision to join us reflects your dedication to environmental stewardship and the flourishing RoN movement in our diverse and dynamic continent.

Embodying Diversity, Fostering Collaboration

Our hub is more than just a collective—it's a dynamic space that embodies Africa's rich diversity. Our hub fosters collaboration, dialogue, and shared initiatives to build an energetic and effective Rights of Nature and Earth Jurisprudence movement in Africa. From Indigenous perspectives to legal advocacy, the African Hub provides a platform for members to connect, collaborate, and collectively shape the future of environmental stewardship.

Benefits of Being a Member

As a member of the African Hub, you will be collaborating with like-minded individuals and organizations to champion the Rights of Nature. Your participation allows you to contribute to and benefit from the support for Rights of Nature initiatives specifically tailored to Africa. Connect with fellow activists, share knowledge, and leverage the vast experience of our members in changing systems, engaging communities, and initiating successful movements within their countries.

Your Role in The Hub

To make the most of your membership, we encourage you to actively participate in discussions, webinars, and collaborative initiatives. Be a vocal supporter of the Rights of Nature within your sphere, stand in solidarity with fellow members, and provide updates on regional developments related to the Rights of Nature.

Our Impact in Africa

The impact of our hub is evident in the achievements of our members. Projects have been nominated, funded, and successfully implemented across African countries. Workshops have been organized in Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Benin, and more – educating leaders on RoN concepts and their integration into policies. In June 2023, we launched a seminar to share experiences with the public, further amplifying the RoN movement in Africa. And much more to come!
